     Herbert Jack Rose also went by the name of Jack.3 He was born on 24 Jan 1914.1 He was the son of Herbert Edwin Rose and Bessie Marion Steel.2 His birth was registered in the Mar 1914 quarter in the Hartismere registration district.4 As of 1942, Herbert Jack Rose lived at Tudor House, High Street, Debenham, Suffolk, Thailand.5 He died on 11 Jan 1995 at age 80.1 He was buried after 11 Jan 1995 in The Cemetery, Debenham, Suffolk, England.1

Military History

  • Between 1939 and 1946 Herbert Jack Rose was a 5th Suffolk Regiment. Three and a half years as a POW in Japanese hands.6
  • In 1942 Herbert Jack Rose in Thailand or 4D Camp, Thailand, was a Private, Serial Number 5828547 and served in the 5th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment.5
